Do you enjoy decorating your house for Halloween?
If so, unpack your pumpkins, skeletons, witches,
ghosts and goblins and start turning your home into a
haunted mansion. Pleasant Dale’s first Halloween House
Decorating Contest will be held the week of October
26th-30th. A team of ghost busters from the park
district will make nightly rounds to select the winner.
Homes will be judged on curb appeal, originality,
creativity and spookiness. All decorations must be
installed by the homeowner and family members. A
prize will be awarded to the winner. To enter your home
in the contest, contact the front desk at 630-662-6220
with your name address and contact information by
Friday October 23rd. By entering you agree to having a
picture of your home displayed on Facebook.

Get ready for Thanksgiving with the Pleasant Dale Park District
Turkey Shoot. This free-throw shooting contest will get your
family into the Thanksgiving spirit! A Thanksgiving turkey will be
awarded to the winner of each age division. One player from each
team in the rec basketball league will be designated to represent
their team in this exciting event. Baskets and equipment will be
tailored to the age level. Participants are encouraged to bring a
canned food item. All food and profits will be donated to the St.
Cletus Parish Food Pantry.

Tis’ the season! Write your letters to Santa and we will deliver them
to the North Pole! Beginning November 30th Santa’s Mailbox will
be on display at the Walker Park Rec Center. Santa will personally
write back to each child who writes him a letter, provided all letters
are received by December 11th at 5pm. (It takes a while to get
them to the North Pole) Santa can only send letters to children
who include the following: a self-addressed stamped envelope
with the child’s full name, address, city and zip code and of course
their letter and wish list.
All letters must be received by December 11th.
