Tis’ the season! Write your letters to Santa and we will deliver them to the North Pole! Beginning November 30th Santa’s Mailbox will be on display at the Walker Park Rec Center. Santa will personally write back to each child who writes him a letter, provided all letters are received by December 11th at 5pm. (It takes a while to get them to the North Pole) Santa can only send letters to children who include the following: a self-addressed stamped envelope with the child’s full name, address, city and zip code and of course their letter and wish list. All letters must be received by December 11th.

Join us to view the decorations and lights at the Walker Park Rec Center. Santa will be waiting as you drive up and hand him your letter. All letters that include a self-addressed stamped envelope will be answered. Santa will be available for socially distant pictures. Santa's helpers will be there to handout goodie bags of sweets, treats, a craft and a few surprises. Each car will have a specific time slot assigned. We will do our best to stick to Santa's busy schedule. All children age 1 year and above must have a ticket. Once registered you will receive detailed instructions and tickets via email. Pre-registration is required and participants will receive their time slot and tickets by December 4.

Calling all Dodgeball enthusiasts! Pleasant Dale Park District will be hosting a Dodgeball Day on the basketball courts at Walker Park, Saturday December 12 weather permitting. Participants will be put into teams and face off against each other. Mask and gloves are required for each participant. No more than 10 participants are allowed at a time. Pre-registration required. Register now and don't forget to Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge!

Does your house sparkle during the season??? If so, let us know and enter Pleasant Dale’s first Holiday House Decorating Contest will be held the week of December 14th-18th. A team of Santa’s helpers from the park district will make nightly rounds to select the winner. Homes will be judged on curb appeal, originality, creativity and use of seasonal décor. All decorations must be installed by the homeowner and family members. A prize will be awarded to the winner. To enter your home in the contest, contact the front desk at 630-662-6220 with your name address and contact information by Friday December 11th. By entering you agree to having a picture of your home displayed on Facebook.

Enjoy hot cocoa and cookies while having fun decorating your own unique full-size gingerbread house. We will provide all the supplies for decorating. Take your completed gingerbread house home and put it on display for the holiday season. Each registration fee includes one gingerbread house. Pre-registration required by December 11th. Due to COVID-19 restrictions only 2 participants per gingerbread house.
